Description[edit | edit source]
King William County is located in the East-Central portion of the Commonwealth of Virginia on the Middle Peninsula, one of three peninsulas on the western shore of the Chesapeake Bay. The County was named for King William III, King of England, Scotland and Ireland from April 11, 1689 to March 19, 1702[1].

10,000 name petition (dated: 16 October 1776) signed by Baptists and Baptist sympathizers from all over Virginia, asking for an end to persecution of Baptists by the established church.
