Junosuando Church

Junosuando parish was formed in 1914 when it broke off from Pajala parish.[1]

(2) Junosuando parish was broken up on January 1, 1914 from Pajala parish. The villages that formed the new parish were Junosuando, Salmijärvi, Lovikka, Torneåfors with Palokorva, Kangos, Särkimukka, Kurkkio, Nuoksujärvi, Oksajärvi and Kärendöjärvi.

The parish formed a joint pastorate with Pajala parish (mother parish) until 1947. Junosuando parish became its own pastorate in 1948. The Pajala church archives include joint protocols for the pastorate up to and including 1947
