Until January 1, 2007 Ikast municipality was a municipality in Ringkøbing on the Jutland peninsula in west Denmark and the main town and site of its municipal council was the town of Ikast.
The municipality was created in 1970 as the result of a Municipality Reform that merged a number of existing parishes:, Bording, Engesvang, Ikast and Isenvad.
Ikast municipality ceased to exist as the result of The Municipality Reform of 2007 when it was merged with existing Brande and Nørre-Snede municipalities to form the new Ikast-Brande municipality. The new municipality belongs to Region Midtjylland ("Mid-Jutland Region").
