Parish History[edit | edit source]

HAMPTON (NEW), a village and a chapelry in Hampton parish, Middlesex. The village stands on the N verge of the parish, near Hampton railway station, 2½ miles NW of Kingston-on-Thames; and is considerable. The chapelry was constituted in 1863; and its post town is Hampton, under London.[1]

St James Hampton Hill (in Hampton) was created and established by the year 1863 and lay within the ancient (and civil) parish boundaries of St Mary Hampton.
