History[edit | edit source]

Until 17 April 1678 Højerup was an annex of Lille Heddinge parish. After this date it was under the chaplain of Store Heddinge parish. This lasted until 1809 at which point it became an a proper annex under Store Heddinge parish meaning that it became the priest's responsibility instead of the chaplain's. In 1855 it became its own chapelry. This lasted until 1972 when it was combined with the now existing Lille Heddinge-Havnelev chapelry.
