- On March 20, 1783, Tomás de Rocamora founded the town of San Antonio de Gualeguay Grande integrated 150 residents in the department of Gualeguay Grande.
- On April 13, 1849, the department of Gualeguay was created, taking territory from Paraná.
- The department of Gualeguay has a population of approximately 52,000 people. [1]
