United States Military Records
Military records identify millions of individuals who served in the military or who were eligible for service. You may find evidence that an ancestor served in the military in family traditions, census records, naturalization records, biographies, cemetery records, and records of veterans' organizations. More recent military records usually have more information than older records. You may want to begin your search by determining if your ancestor could have served in a war.
