East Kalimantan (Indonesian: Kalimantan Timur) comprises the eastern portion of Borneo. It covers an area of 127,267.52 km2 (49,138.26 sq mi). Its capital is Samarinda. The most populous group in this province is the Javanese, then followed by Bugis, Banjar, Dayak, Kutai, Toraja, Paser, Sunda, Madura and Auto Buton.
