Center Resources[edit | edit source]

The Dekalb Family History Center is a branch of FamilySearch and the Family History Library in Salt Lake City, Utah, operated by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

There is no cost to visit and you do not have to be a member of the church to use the resources of the center. Everyone is welcome. There is a charge of $.10 per copy for any copies made.

Our goal is to provide resources to assist you in the research and study of your genealogy and family history by:

·        Giving personal one-on-one assistance

·        Providing access to genealogical records through the Internet

·        Offering free how-to classes (varies by location)

Our center is staffed by volunteers and staff members are not paid for their services.

Our center is a computer-only facility that does not circulate film. We provide free access to subscription genealogy websites and microfilm online.

Periodically throughout the year our Family History Center may offer classes and special seminars.
