County Borough of Conwy - 1996
The County Borough of Conwy in Wales, was formed as a Unitary Authority during the re-organisation of local government in Wales in 1996, by merging the districts of Aberconwy and Colwyn from the County of Gwynedd. Its was originally named Aberconwy and Colwyn but its council immediately renamed it to Conwy.

The county borough stretches from the sea in the north to high moorland in the south, and contains the towns of Conwy,Llandudno, Colwyn Bay, Abergele and Llanrwst.

Historically, the area lay in the historic counties of Caernarfonshire and Denbighshire.
