Parish History[edit | edit source]

CHITHURST, a parish, in the union of Midhurst, hundred of Dumpford, rape of Chichester, W. division of Sussex, 3¾ miles (W. N. W.) from Midhurst.[1]

Chithurst St Mary is a former chapelry of  Iping, Sussex Ancient Parish. It is within the Trotton with Chithurst Civil Parish in the Chichester district of East Sussex.
