Writing for Civil Registration and Church Records[edit | edit source]
If you need civil registration records, you will usually need to write for them, because they are recent enough to fall within privacy restrictions. You might also need church records which are not yet online because of privacy. Records too private to be posted online yet are still available to close family members for genealogical purposes. Instructions for writing are found in the article Czech Republic Letter Writing Guide. Here you will find a form letter for requesting records. More complicated requests can be written in English. You will also find information on the process for paying for the certificates.
