Chapelry History[edit | edit source]

The large chapel of (Holy Trinity) in Bolton-le-Moors was built by the year 1825 and stood in the civil parish boundaries of St Peter Bolton-Le-Moors. It lies in the districts of Bolton, Wigan, and Chorley, Lancashire. Bolton Town contains the townships of Great Bolton, Little Bolton, Sharples, Quarlton, Edgeworth, Entwistle, Longworth, Turton, Bradshaw, Haulgh, Tonge, Breightmet, Harwood, Lostock, Darcy-Lever, Blackrod, Anglezarke, and Rivington, and the chapelry of Little Lever.There are also places of worship for Baptists,Independents, Unitarians, the Society of Friends,Swedenborgians, Methodists, and Roman Catholics;and, besides these, ten churches in chapelries and rural townships within the parish.
