Parish History[edit | edit source]

BELCHAMP ST. PAUL'S (St. Andrew), is a parish, in the union of Sudbury, the hundred of Hinckford, and N division of Essex, it is 3 miles SE by E from Clare. This parish like the parishes of Belchamp-Otton and Belchamp-Walter, obtained its Norman appellation in consequence of its fertility and the beauty of its situation.[1]
