Parish History[edit | edit source]

Bedford, is a borough which comprises the parishes of St. Cuthbert,St. John, St. Mary, St. Paul and St. Peter Martin. There are places of worship for Baptists, Independents, Wesleyans and Moravians; as well as the Primitive Episcopal or Reformed Church of England. [1]

Church Records[edit | edit source]

The Church of England (Anglican) became the official state religion in 1534, with the reigning monarch as its Supreme Governor.
Non-Conformist refers to all other religious denominations that are not the official state religion.
