- On April 7, 1852, the partido of Barracas del Sur was created.
- In 1856, the population that resided there was as follows:
- 2444 were Argentineans
- 819 were French
- 528 were Spanish
- 496 were Italians
- 247 were English
- 217 were Germans
- 348 were from other origins.
- 2444 were Argentineans
- On January 11, 1904 the name of that was changed to Avellaneda.
- In 1944 the partido of Cuatro de Junio was created, which is currently Lanús, with lands of the partidos of Avellaneda and Lomas de Zamora.
- The partido of Avellaneda has a population of approximately 343,000 people. [1]
