History[edit | edit source]
From 1743 the main property owned by the Ahlefeldt family was Broløkke in Magleby parish, Langelands Sønder district, Svendborg county. The Ahlefeldt family owned many properties across Denmark, including Søgård in Kiplev parish in Southern Jutland; and Broløkke in Magleby parish and Lykkesholm in Tryggelev parish, Langelands Sønder district, Svendborg county.
Members of the family served in many prestigious offices in the Danish court for centuries. In 1672 the county of Langeland was created with Frederik Ahlefeldt (1623-1686) as the first Count. The records described in the FamilySearch catalog as belonging to Ahlefeldt gods are limited to properties on the island of Langeland.
