History[edit | edit source]
Agersbøl was established by Mogen Gøye as part of his wife's property in the early 1500s. The estate was owned by members of the Juul family in the 1600s. In 1760 Marcus Pauli Marcussen purchased the estate until he turned it over to his son, Poul Marcussen and son-in-law, Ulrik Christian von Schmidten. In 1799 von Schmidten became sole owner and began to divide the estate to sell portions of it off. In 1801 Erik Grave Hoppe purchased Agersbøl until 1816 when he sold it to John Peter Ingwersen. The Ingwersen family owned it until 1878. Since that time the estate has had multiple owners.
